Not just crazy Gentiles - how 'bout this: We're in a Kosher restaurant in Miami Beach with my grandfather. My daughter tried to order milk with her meal. Big stares - from my aunt and uncle as well as the waitress. Don't think Grandpa heard her <g>.
And I made the serious mistake of trying the "Veal Parmigiana" with the non-dairy "cheese". When my Mom and I went to Israel in 1972, the hotel dining room would only use the powder form of the non-dairy coffee "creamer" at meat meals, so no one would think they inadvertantly put out dairy. -Ben > -----Original Message----- > From: Howie Hamlin [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Monday, April 01, 2002 1:56 PM > To: CF-Community > Subject: Re: Pot Luck (was RE: Somebody send me a muffin) > > > Never had the (dis)pleasure od seeing that one :-) > > I do have a little story - I went to Ben's Kosher Deli > (mmmm...corned beef) and I ordered some herring and then > asked for cream > sauce (can you say faux pas?). > > My ex-sister-in-law also went to a Bens (hey - any relation? > <g>) and ordered a cheese burger.
