There *should* be big fat heavy duty walls between domestic law enforcement
and international intelligence. The mixing of law enforcement and
intelligence activities and the military is one of the scariest products of
the "war on terror". Gorelick was not responsible for the 9/11 attacks and
there were plenty of opportunities to follow information that we did have
that did not happen. I value my privacy (what little is left of it) and I
fear my government (even one lead by a Democrat). How about less overarching
power to spy on each and every person here and abroad with little or no
oversight, huh?

As for her part in Freddie Mac/Fanny Mae and that debacle, yeah, that's a
fucked up situation and string her up for it. Of course it also says that
she's been gone since 2003. I'm sure that the people involved in the last 5
years have no culpability. I'm all in favor of rooting out the coporatist
assholes that took the money and ran and drove our financial institutions
into the ground. I suspect, though, that if we were to really do that,
Gorelick would end up being rather a small fish in a big pot.
