Agreed, I'm even uncomfortable with the way national guard units like SF
and LRS are used by drug task forces across the country. These are
specially trained military professionals, not cops and shouldn't be used
as such.

To be honest I'm very uncomfortable with the entire state of law
enforcement in this country. The militarization of the police can be
seen even in the smallest and most crime free of towns. There is often
a very palpable us vs them air when dealing with law enforcement even on
a routine matter.

The courts have expanded probable cause so that the fact that you're
breathing gives them the ability to search you, no knock warrants are
causing problems all over the place, police departments like that in PG
county Maryland routinely kill people, animals and destroy private
property only to find out that no crime was being committed.

Don't even get me started on the things federal law enforcement get away
with, especially ATF and DEA. Not to mention the FBI routinely using
illegal wiretaps.

ugh
