McCain's attempt to reform Fannie and Freddie? McCain has always been anti-regulation and had nothing to do with the 2005 or 2003 Senate bills.
The Republicans had a majority on the Banking Committee and in the Senate. If they had really wanted reform, nothing the Dems did could have stopped it. Debate that.
