So how about student loans underwritten for people that don't pay taxes? How about social security for dependents that didn't pay SS? How about capital gains tax breaks for the rich who use them as a tax shield? You MUST understand that your point about people who don't pay taxes is one of those sounds-good-in-a-vacuum discussion points that are so very popular on talk radio because it sounds good to the ignorant. The bottom line is that our country has all 100s of ways of redistributing wealth. To pick out one because it sounds good to ignorant people is dishonorable; it's a lie of omission. I'll give you another example: Medicare and medicaid. The amount of money boomers are going to get (are getting!!) FAR FAR FAR exceeds what they paid in. In other words, the federal government is taking money from working families and giving it to wealthy retirees. So yet again we have a principle vs. position argument. Are you against ALL forms of wealth redistribution? Because then you oppose a progressive tax AND you owe me your stimulus check because the government took it from me and gave it to you. Since you oppose that on principle I'll be happy to have you send my money back. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:278338 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
