I can't carry off duty, no.  I'm not a cop, and even cops aren't allowed to
carry off duty everywhere.

I think it would be a lot easier if they eased up restrictions based on
military and law enforcement restrictions, give the same breaks to people
that finish certain courses I guess?

No man, I think that having any qualifier other than being a citizen and not
a felon and you will start having laws that deprive individuals f self
defense.

My take on the safety issue stems from Ben Franklin's,  he who would give
liberty for security deserves neither.
