In California, it is hours worked.

Take next week. I work 8 hours on M,T,W,F... 32 hours. I get paid for
Thanksgiving... 8 hours. So 40 hours recorded.

If I have to work 8 hours on Saturday for some reason, it would be straight
time.

Same would apply if I took a vacation day.

Subject: Earned vacation time

A question for all you - figured someone might be in the know about the laws
on this one.

A corporation uses a 37.5 hour work week as their base work week. However,
time and a half doesn't start until after you work 40 hours.

Is that a federal or state law?

Next ... Say you work 50 hours between Monday and Thursday. Then have a
planned day of vacation, using one of your vacation days. Total hours for
the week recorded: 57.5 hours. Do you get time an a half for 17.5 hours or
do you only get 10 hours of overtime? Does the vacation time negate the
overtime?

Curious George wants to know ...
