Good tangent-man segue to the MN Senate vote thread: the problem with
the MN votes is that idiots are voting.  Seriously.  Look at the
ballots.

Privilege is owed, but doesn't mandate, responsibility.

It seems many in our country have forgotten that.  Which is a top
reason, but far from the only reason, they're idiots.

I didn't say Europe, nor the US Democrat party.  I said the European
social democrat tradition which has not, to my knowledge, been
executed anywhere.

In my view it would be adapted and encapsulate this concept:

(1.) Government has no capability to manage production or business.

(2.) Government has a capability to regulate markets by managing
exposure risk through anti-trust which should guarantee that (a.) no
company has a monopoly, and (b.) no company is large enough the
failure of which would impact an economy.  Not this WAS NOT DONE with
AIG for example.  Or the Auto industry.

(3.) Government has a capability to be an advocate for the consumer,
the primary duty of which should be to ensure financial security.
