Good tangent-man segue to the MN Senate vote thread: the problem with the MN votes is that idiots are voting. Seriously. Look at the ballots. Privilege is owed, but doesn't mandate, responsibility. It seems many in our country have forgotten that. Which is a top reason, but far from the only reason, they're idiots. > Their model, in case you hadn't noticed, is not doing any better than ours, I didn't say Europe, nor the US Democrat party. I said the European social democrat tradition which has not, to my knowledge, been executed anywhere. In my view it would be adapted and encapsulate this concept: (1.) Government has no capability to manage production or business. (2.) Government has a capability to regulate markets by managing exposure risk through anti-trust which should guarantee that (a.) no company has a monopoly, and (b.) no company is large enough the failure of which would impact an economy. Not this WAS NOT DONE with AIG for example. Or the Auto industry. (3.) Government has a capability to be an advocate for the consumer, the primary duty of which should be to ensure financial security. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:283028 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
