Robert, along with many Americans, has fallen victim to boogey men and cartoonish demagogic bastardization of some really good concepts. Robert uses the word "socialism" as a proxy Fascism. ** WARNING ** Controversial content to follow Marx had it pretty correct. He praised capitalism's ability to transform poor countries into thriving democracies. His concern was that capitalism would create a plutocracy. Frankly that's exactly what we have right now thanks to Bush. What else would you call a system where the poor work to pay for the rich? To bail them out and to ensure they stay rich despite their best efforts to be poor? Basically Marx predicted the exact place the US finds itself in. Modern social democrat theory derivitive of Marx from Wiki is: "Social democrats aim to reform capitalism democratically through state regulation and the creation of programs that work to counteract or remove the social injustice and inefficiencies they see as inherent in capitalism." IN other words, inherent to capitalism is what the US now has: social injustice where the poor *work* to pay for the rich to stay rich. To fix that we'll need state regulation and programs to counteract it happening again. How's that for stirring the pot? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:283051 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
