There was no moral judgement on that "steal a seat", just a tactical note.
The repubs see an opportunity to turn a dem seat into a repub seat WHILE claiming they only care about the people getting a say. It is a win-win for them. The dems can argue against the special vote, but only by defending the crooked Dem governor's right to appoint any person he feels like, with no input from the electorate.
