I'll also add ... WAY TO GO!!! W00t!! Nothing more motivating than that.

If push-ups keeps you motivated then definitely roll with 'em.

Personally I don't use them much because of wrist strain (although you
can get handles, even cool rotating ones) and it's hard to focus on
form since the weight is high. On the other hand, if you don't have
access to a full set of dumbbells/free weights then I can't think of a
better "full body" type exercise.

As someone pointed out, moving you own body weight is one of the best exercises.

Now, let's start working on those pull-ups. Best way to do this to
get a "power tower" which you can buy on eBay for $10 or new for $100,
or of course at the club.

Start your back workouts with "negative" pull-ups, meaning stand on a
stool in the "up" position and then raise your legs and slowly lower
yourself down. Stand up on the stool again and repeat.

If you have access to an assisted pullup machine, do those next, then
dumbbell and lat pull down.

You'll be doing pullups by the end of the year.

If you want a great home machine, btw, I LOVE Hoist stuff.

This thing does EVERYTHING:

It's by far the most versatile machine ever and I hope I can buy it
soon but with my wife in law school ... sigh.

I've got these:

And I can't recommend the stuff more. Totally high quality, supremely
stable, very durable.

I have no relationship with them, but now that I think about I should
buy stock ...
