the point I was making was that the even the US did not experience the 
democratic revolution that its propaganda frequently champions. It wasn't until 
it got its foreign intervention that it became reomtely successful. In contrast 
most of the peaceful democratic changes that have happened (i.e., Britain, 
Iceland, Australia and Canada) have not required violent confrontationsl
