If you had a contract with a client that had a performance bonus built in, and you met the qualifications for the bonus, why would you turn it down. If I earned a contracted bonus, you can bet I'd take it, and I wouldn't be giving any of it back. This whole AIG bonus crap is just a tempest in a teapot - a distraction and scapegoating to keep attention of the real problems.
