Mikey. Whilst I understand your frustration at not being on the committee,
because it's obviously something very important to you and you HAVE been a
long standing member of the community and provide us all VERY IMPORTANT
services ...

Why not just embrace what you have and start your own little band?

So what if you don't like the frameworks that are out there. Not everyone
uses them. I NEVER have.
I use my own.

So what if you don't have the same opinion as someone else... just march to
the beat of your drum and hold your head up high.

So WHAT if your opinion of other's code isn't high ... it happens!

I REALLY fail to see why what OTHER people think is so important to you. You
OBVIOUSLY have the backing of quite a large portion of the community or the
HOF and the mag wouldn't be as big as they are.

So EMBRACE that popularity, and build on it.

And maybe I'm missing some of your point, but SHIT. I wish I had half your
talent, half your following and just half of your name recognition. I mean
damn man - stop worrying about everyone else and just build your
brand!!!!!!!

You've done more for ColdFusion's lifecycle than a lot of folks. But the
whining isn't going to get you anywhere. Attacked for having views different
from the world?! OMG Mikey. There's gonna be people who dont agree with you.
So WHAT>?! Don't let that stop you blogging.

Don't feel that you should release the articles???? WHY?! you have every
right to your opinion as the next guy and after all these years, I should
certainly HOPE that you just do what you want to do - or it becomes
political.

I feel you are always trying to go against the grain, trying to be
different, and you keep wanting to draw attention to that.... we all know
you are PASSIONATE about this industry. We KNOW you are like "genius level"
smart, and some of couldn't ever be in your shoes ...

But the crux of the matter is thus: the majority of us programmers and
product managers and government employees, and corporate checkbooks cannot
relate to you on your level of smartness.

Have your opinions, do your code, but learn to talk "normal" with everything
else. You're too high up there Mikey. The majority of your knowledge goes
right over our heads. And you either learn to dumb it down a bit - or you
keep losing us in the process.

I know it isnt right. And if you can't lower your standards to hang with us
"not at genius level", then FINE. DONT. But dont stop doing something just
because someone doesnt want you on a committee. Maybe they don't like comics
and they don't want to hear about them. Who knows!

I've heard this story from you before.... and I LOVE YOU MAN ... but I'm
worried you let it bother you WAY TOO MUCH!

WAY TOO MUCH. Because if there's one person I'd listen to in this whole
community... it would be you.

And if I'm off my mark, by all means, blast me and let me know. I'm far from
hitting the mark sometimes, and I cant put into words eloquently enough to
tell you how much I appreciate you and Judith - so I cant sit by and hear
this from you without responding.
