We never really close, either, but, on the rare occasion it snows, I stay
home anyway. I don't know what I would do if it was a day I really had to be
here (like on a backup day.) I guess I'd come in late and just stay long
enough to do whatever absolutely had to be done. (Which is funny, now that I
think about it, because our group's client is the government. If they aren't
there then why should we stress about coming in? Wait - I know the answer!
Because just 'cuz it is snowing here doesn't mean it is snowing in Japan or
Germany or somewhere else where our client's users are.)

It is essential, here, to have a big guzzly SUV so you can leap in and
drive
6 blocks to Blockbuster regardless of the weather. Of course, if you
drive
too fast and wreck it isn't your fault, it is the road crews' for not
plowing fast enough to make things easier for you since you are more
important than all of the other schmos out there. I usually stay home
when
it snows. It is much safer that way.

Same with me, Here in Kentucky they can never predict the weather
correctly. So we have gotten bad ice storms whenever the weather man
called
for a light dusting.

4wd is a big help, as they rarely get to the side roads where most of my

driving occurs. Many people run off the road and have accidents around
here
because they don't have traction on the snow.
