And here is where I say there is a problem with health care. A great deal of that choice is taken away from my, the customer/consumer by the decisions made by current and potential future employers. I have experienced this for the past decade. My son was born with serious health complications. He has great doctors, that we where pretty lucky to get. Since when one is told your child is born that he needs surgery within 3 days to live you don't get a lot of time for a lengthy interview or trial and error process. But in the years since, I have had need to change jobs several times, sometimes not by my choice. Your employer moves from California to Florida because of a merger and your position isn't going does not leave a lot of options. Being conscious that I am going to make an employment decision based on not changing doctors because of an employer health plan has been a very interesting experience for me. You get strange reactions from recruiters and initial interviewers when you start trying to dig out the specific details of their health plans such as is Dr. Soandso a member. And even trying my best, the last time I was hired I was still bitten in the but, because while the doctors where available, it was through a different network costing my son's ability be seen by the clinic that had been seeing him three times a year since he was born. They have yet to be replaced since the network we are on does not have an equivalent clinic in our region of the country. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Want to reach the ColdFusion community with something they want?
