I don't claim, like others on this list, to have all the answers. I
merely offer my opinions.

It is my opinion, that whenever the color of someone's skin is used to
determine whether or not they 'qualify' for a job, it is
discrimination. It cuts both ways.

The question you ask is ridiculous. I was alive for only 2 years of
the 60's and don't recall much, so I would not be able to speak
intelligently of what was or was not the way it could/should have been
handled.

However, my opinion on how things are done now are based on what I see
and what I have experienced.  I do not question racism today. I know
it exists and do not try to pretend it does not. But the solution to
the decades, no, centuries, of discrimination against blacks is to not
implement policies that themselves can be discriminatory. You say its
bad that someone gets denied a job because they are not white, and I
agree with you. However, you seem to have no issue denying someone a
job because they are white, and that is where we disagree.
