What is remarkable in this thread is the lack of a substantive response to
the points that I raised:

- we have an incomplete understanding of the planet and the influences on
its climate
- computer simulations based on human assumptions and incomplete knowledge
are not always accurate or even close to accurate (see the recent meltdown
of the economy for a prime example of how a bunch of really smart people
with fancy computer models were totally wrong about potential outcomes in a
complex system that we don't completely understand)
- without the cooperation of the Indians and Chinese, who have already said
no thanks, capping carbon emissions will do little to change overall CO2
levels
- cap and trade legislation is therefore a big scam that will mint a ton of
money for a handful of people and cost the rest of us in every sector of the
economy

Anyone care to respond to any of these points, or are you all just going to
piss and moan about how the doubters "don't get it"?
