Unquestionably. However we do understand enough to know we are effecting the earth in a negative way. We know ways to reduce that effect. We know we need to move towards that end. > - computer simulations based on human assumptions and incomplete knowledge > are not always accurate or even close to accurate (see the recent meltdown > of the economy for a prime example of how a bunch of really smart people > with fancy computer models were totally wrong about potential outcomes in a > complex system that we don't completely understand) Even if they are inaccurate the do nothing approach is asinine. Comparing the economy to ecology is ridiculous. > - without the cooperation of the Indians and Chinese, who have already said > no thanks, capping carbon emissions will do little to change overall CO2 > levels Phenomenal idea. Do nothing, because we [the western countries] would be the only ones doing something. If they don't change why should we right? That way when we're explaining to God/Allah/FSM et al why we destroyed the planet and did nothing to save it, they'll know it wasn't just us that did it. It was also those nasty Chinese. > - cap and trade legislation is therefore a big scam that will mint a ton of > money for a handful of people and cost the rest of us in every sector of > the > economy Aren't you all about people making money? Aren't you the lap dog of the guy who let the biggest financial scam in history take place? Now you're worried about people trying to save Earth and making some coin in the process? > Anyone care to respond to any of these points, or are you all just going to > piss and moan about how the doubters "don't get it"? I did, though I know it's of no use. You will always find a way to refute the science behind climate change research. Ultimately it's sad though Robert. Don't you see? How horrible it will be if your type is wrong? It's one thing to take action and if the action was useless all it cost was money. It's quite another to do nothing and be wrong. Money isn't everything Rob. A livable planet is. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Want to reach the ColdFusion community with something they want?
