It seems to met that guilt etc is a social control. It serves to have
individuals act in ways that don't immediately benefit them, but does
benefit the larger group. The MILF 3 door down is a good example. In a
smaller social group, tribes etc, if you followed your impulse, yes it
might be fun for a short while but serves to mess up your group. At
the very least when the husband (or your wife) finds out about it,
then it helps to destroy social cohesion and unity etc.
