Actually not entirely true. It's just hard to definitely date and match up 
information from so long ago, and particularly when so many of the dates are in 
question. There's certainly a lot of theories that are out there...there was a 
History channel documentary a few years back that they often replay you might 
find interesting "Exodus Decoded". Much of the science in it is quite 
debatable, and takes a few too many leaps of logic, but at the least there is 
some evidence of great natural disasters occurring at some point in antiquity 
that could possibly match with the Exodus.
