your time is not free. you could have been having a nap instead. if they didnt want to pay, THEY could have done the work themselves.
yes, I feel it perfectly ok to charge. personally, i usually charge less than my top rate for mindless work, but that is a decision i struggle with. i know that _what_ I am doing should not determine my rate, but i cannot charge my normal rate for work that needs little skill.
