No he has not.

Chavez has said repeatedly that he wants peace and fair dealings with the
United States.
He has repeated it at the recently concluded heads of commonwealth meeting
when he met Obama publicly.

The man appeared on 60 Minutes and said the same thing again.

He was FIRMLY against George Bush and the imperialisitic and expansionist
policies of the US.If you knew even a little of the history of Latin America
you would have little to no grounds to argue against the exploitation of
Latin America by the US, and the hardships caused by its interference in the
region's affairs.

He is also against The US treatment of Cuba.

But he has helped US Citizens where he can and when he can.In many instances
more than its other allies, and more than its own government.

He has made great strides in arresting Drug Traffickers and attempting to
stem the flow of drugs from within Venzeula and the traffic of drugs through
that country.

And he is a Democratically elected leader. The same Democracy that the US
implemented by force in other countries,
is the same Democracy they now choose not to recognise when it does not suit
them.

You seem to know some of the other side to the other stories, such as the
Foreign companies etc.
There are two sides to every story, and what you should have learnt by now
is that you NEVER trust the view put forward by the US government.
Look at what the other independent agencies, other US Allies etc. are saying
first.

And the only ones vilifying Chavez in this manner is the United States.

And Chavez is no saint, and I don't agree with several of his
decisions....but on this specific issue I don't agree with the US position.
