At least 6 years, but I think they were around when we still lived in
NJ over 6 years ago.

Sirius and XM both existed for about 5-6 years (that I know of), the
merge went through sometime last year. I loves my XM radio, but when
I stopped commuting to work I dropped it.

Yea, I had to jump through hoops when we left Adelphia for DirecTV.
They turned off our internet connection (which we were keeping) and
then pulled an 'Oops..we are sorry, but we need a tech to come out to
fix it' I asked them, 'how come you can turn it off from your office
but not turn it on?' It got turned on within a few minutes. And we got
a litany of phone calls asking us to come back - which I expected, so
it was not too bad.

It seems there really is no such thing as a good television service
provider, just varying levels of bad. Though, I know people who have
had no issues witrh Comcast, or Adelphia. So, like I said, I may be
the exception, but until that changes, I like DirecTV.
