I got the wife a refurbished DV7 a few months ago. Besides the hard drive starting to fail [no sweat, bought an extended plan with the money we saved] it's pretty swell (well, now that vista is off it. ;]p).
A MacBook Pro will do all that heavy stuff someone was asking about, but don't do it unless you get an extended care plan, is my advice. Parts & labor ain't cheap. VirtualBox runs fine on 'em, BTW. The DV7 is heavier than the MBP, and the Lenovo equiv seemed heaver than the DV7, so I guess that's one thing the MBPs are good for (the big ones are relatively light). I still find it funny that like 90% of the parts in all these machines are the same now (right?). Eh. MSI looks good... Testing the keyboard action is something I look for, when I can try it out before I buy it. I wonder who has the best action? The MBP feels solid, and the DV7 is pretty close. :DeN -- To be surprised, to wonder, is to begin to understand.
