It also helps small businesses over 50 employees and even ones under 50 as
they will now have the same purchasing power as a company with a million
employees. One of the biggest impediments for small businesses is that they
had to pay more than their larger brethren for insurance benefits for their
employees since the pool was smaller. If you had a small business, it might
cost you 100/employee for plan x. AT&T would probably be paying 30/employee
for the same plan because the risk was spread out over more employees. Now
that we are all in the same pool, it is much larger and everyone saves money
as the risk is spread out over a wider area.

And if a company wants to stay under that 50 employee bar they can
fire old ones for new ones or hire new ones as consultants or
temp-to-hire, pushing all of the tax requirements onto them.
I see this bill resulting in less employment rather than more. At
least less full time, on the books, employment.
But it doesn't take effect till the next president's term, right?
Maybe Obama, maybe not.
