"Every business that has asked for money from the government has gotten it.
Weren't you among those yelling about bailouts and the socialization of the
banking and auto industries? How quickly we forget."

Hell yeah I was. I haven't forgotten one bit. I think you are assuming I
want more bailouts. That would be untrue in every sense. By wanting to
know what this administration is doing to help private business, I am not
supporting any ideas. I am seeking information.

"A $30 billion package to aid small businesses has been stalled in Congress
since February. Guess why."

Why guess. Tell me. I think I know where you want to go with this, but I
don't want to put words in your mouth.

"The government didn't pick. They are an equal opportunity bailer."

I may be wrong, but it seems the bailout was supposed to free up capital so
small businesses could get credit lines. It did the complete opposite. The
banks set on the money (at least those that managed to not be seized). So,
the small businesses did not get bailed out.

"But just out of curiosity, what do you think the unemployment rate would
be without the stimulus? Care to hazard a?"

That's a hard question. I'll just say that without government interference,
this recession would probably resemble the recession of 1920-21 more than
the great depression.
