A fact check would reveal (as I've posted here before) that he'd still be wrong if he is using any sort of modern definition of "Christian". The first several Presidents, for instance, we either Deists or Universalists (precursors to the modern day Unitarian Universalists). So if you are using Christian to mean Protestant or Catholic, which people generally are, then that statement would be untrue.
