why not. The biggest practitioner of the socalled eugenics was the National Socialist Party of Germany. They based their stuff on the Virginia laws.
Also before you start touting how much of a left wing thing they are, remember what was considered left wing, for instance the Fabian Socialists of the 19th century would be considered so far right wing that fascists woudl run away from them screaming.
