The verses they quote, which in the case of homosexuality are a fairly accurate translation, are not what you should take issue with.
Christ's teachings while he was on Earth make it pretty clear that we shouldn't be judging people the way homosexuals are generally judged. Even if that weren't the case, all extramarital sex is just as strongly condemned. I'd be willing to bet that 90% (at least) of the people out there who are unwilling to support gay rights are or were guilty of that one.
