No, Bush is not off the hook since he was most of the reason we are in this mess to begin with. If it hadn't been for his irresponsible tax cuts and getting us illegally involved in a war in Iraq, then we probably wouldn't be in this mess...or at a minimum, it would be as bad as it was.
They pay les compared to the amount of income they make...so no...they do not pay more than the middle class. In fact, their tax rate is lowest it has been in the country's history. The investments they are making are not in the US, so getting them more money is not helping us one iota. The dems are not on a spending spree. I find that ripe coming from someone who was silent when the republicans were on a spree that made the dems look like Mr. Scrooge... -----Original Message----- From: Sam [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, April 19, 2011 01:48 PM To: cf-community Subject: Re: [politics] Cost of tax cuts for the rich exceeds gains by budget cuts On Tue, Apr 19, 2011 at 2:09 PM, Eric Roberts <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hasn't most, if not all of the TARP been repaid? Good point. That means Bush is off the hook for that mess. Do you think we're advocating for the rich to not pay taxes and the poor to walk to work? I'm confused as to what you think I think. The rich pay taxes, they pay a much larger percent than the middle class and the poor doesn't pay at all. If you take a guys wallet every time he pulls it out he's not going to pull it out in front of you. We're talking about not punishing corporations for making investments. Right now they're hiding the cash and looking into spending it elsewhere. > I think you are wrong on > that Sam...it has been the other way around. The Dems are on a spending spree. The gops where supposed to reverse the spending trend but came back with high fives and no money saved. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:336448 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
