It's different when you are PAID and TRAINED to diffuse violent situations.
 You don't get to fall back on the "I could have handled that better"
excuse.

police-brutality.  My apologies.

Let's extrapolate a bit - if she slapped him in the face (inexcusable, 100%)
and he pulled out his baton and smashed her in the face, would that be ok?
 What if he shot her?  There has to be a limit and a right way to handle
yourself when you are wearing a badge.  Punching anyone, a woman, man, baby,
seal, baby seal, lolcat, whatever, is not apprehending a suspect, it is
engaging them in a fight.  That is not police work, that is a thug in
action.
