Really? You are asking why? Why does forcing a lack of gender awareness on the very very very tiny chance that this person identifies themselves as a gender opposite to their biological assignment sound like a better idea? Wouldn't the better choice be to make it easier for someone who feels at odds with their biological makeup to speak openly about it?
