In a total Grussian approach, I think there are two different (and
admittedly rude) ways to look at this statement:

1. You were never "forced into a gender" and have no excuse for being the
batshit crazy person you are, thus rendering your argument moot.

2. You were "forced into a gender" and are still batshit crazy but your
topic and gender bias' render your argument moot.

Why are there only two options, either you "force them into a gender" or you
treat them as some "science experiment"? Why cant there be a third more
common sense approach? Why cant the parents let their kid be what shehe
wants to be? Why cant they, as conscientious parents, raise a boy or girl
who understands what it means to be a boy or a girl but also understands
that gender roles are not absolute? Oh they might even tell himer that they
will love himer whatever shehe becomes (gender-ly, romantically,
professionally, etc.)

Seems like pretending heris is genderless (nothing) is much more harmful
then letting himer know that shehe will be supported unconditionally. Seems
easy to me but then again, I'm not all hopped up on lithium, so I should be
more understanding of your plight.
