You might be using the wrong kind of rice...we get ours from an Asian grocer.  You can 
sometimes find imported short grain rice in
the supermarket as well.  Domestic rice is made to be as least sticky as possible 
because the majority of Americans are fixated on
rice that doesn't stick.  I prefer sticky rice, myself...
