Would like to add a group: labor union leaders - not the members, but the executives.
Have never been in a union, but what I've seen makes me think the union executives have their own agenda about getting/maintaining power and privilege, which is more important to them than benefiting the rank and file. This is similar to some of the points made on the list about Federal programs taking on a life/momentum of their own, apart from the reason they were created. -Ben > I guess this difference comes down to who we fell represents our society.
