I missed the part where this would be a maximum allowed work week, perhaps I'm misunderstanding things.
I do believe that, in general, government should be setting minimums rather than maximums. I believe in a minimum wage and other basic protections that try and prevent a race to the bottom and establish a level playing field. To that end, I think that there should be basics set that ensure some standards around paid sick leave. It's important from a general welfare point of view, in my opinion. I do not necessarily believe that that should extend to vacation time because I don't see a compelling argument for a minimum.
