Honestly, I am not sure that mandating time and a half even needs to be
there. It's okay that it is, but it's not really required. I favor
competition. Companies that offer shitty bennies have a hard time hiring
good people.

Also - there is always going to be a bozo-lazy-fuckup who doesn't want to
work a real job. Mandating so much means that shithead gets the same wages
and bennies as someone who works their ass off all day long.

Mandating too much removes not just the competitiveness of companies but
the competitiveness of employees too. If Mr. shithead-lazy-bones is getting
the same bennies as me, what incentive do I have to go good work, get
smarter, and work harder? None. I might as well turn into a worthless lazy
fuckup too.

You may see that as cynical, but I see it as realistic.
