Based on the evidence… I disagree

I think you are very close to being right.
The only difference is…

What I think happened is
- Zimmerman tried to a tough guy (for whatever stupid reason) and
- Martin being a "tough kid"… smacked the idiot up-side-head (ie: cold cocked
him)
- when Zimmerman came around a corner (after talking to the police) to
supposedly "stalk him"
---- this probably dropped Zimmerman to the ground.

Martin then produced to sit on Zimmerman
- and beat the shit out of him.

I believe Martin probably said something like …
- "you're gonna die tonight MF" (ad-libbing here of course)

And the only way for Zimmerman to exit this situation with his life
- was to pull the trigger.

Who's fault is it: Both idiots were at fault. for being stupid.

Unfortunately, one of the idiots died.

As for making Martin a martyr… and comparing Martin to "Martin Luther King"…..
give me a break.

There were 2 idiots that night. Neither of them compare to Martin Luther King.
