I know just what I'd expect if I threw a punch at the 
arresting officer.

I'd expect him to defend himself, to subdue me asap, to 
cuff me, and then to drag my sorry butt off to jail.

I would *not* expect him to go on beating me, with help 
from another officer, when I was restrained and 
defenseless.

You are talking about a cave-man mentality. I find it 
ironic that you are calling us cavepersons.
