I too am being ignored @CF-Talk :-( ***CROSS POST***
I am putting together an intranet site and I have run up against a snag. Short version: PDFs stored on the server do not display correctly (if at all) in browser. Long version: Apache 2.0.39, CFMX installed on WinNT Server 4.0 Sp6a. I have written code that pops up a new window when linking to a document (non-html or cfml) no problem there. the problem comes when trying to open a pdf in the window. The browser launches Acrobat Reader but then just stalls out and displays nothing. Sometimes it sends the CPU to 100% sometimes not. on odd occasions, pressing F5 a number of times will cause the source of the pdf file to be displayed. ppt opens correctly, have not tested it with .doc or .xls This behavior is reproducable on two seperate installs of Apache 2.0.39/CFMX Browser is on WinNT Workstation 4.0 sp6a, IE 6.0.2600.0000 2nd machine (not the server), WinNT Server 4.0 Sp6a, IE 6.0.2600.0000 displays the same but after a few refreshes or removing the URL Encoded characters (%20, etc.) it will display the pdf properly. Other info: application/pdf is listed in mime.types on both servers. have attempted listing application/pdf as addType in httpd.conf; no help. Obviously cannot rely on users clicking refresh until it works, nor can I rely on them removing URL Encoded strings... Any thoughts? will ---- William H.
