Actually the original post was a simple "If you'd like to get together, contact me offlist." Not offensive at all. Just posted to the wrong list.
What would be wrong in me posting to CF-Community, "Email me offlist if you're Jewish and would like to be part of a minyan at Devcon?" Absolutely nothing. It doesn't say that I hate those who are not Jewish (G-d forbid!) -- It just says I'd like to get together with people who share two of my interests: Judaism and CF.
