What do you have running in the background?
Disable AV software, do a scan for Adware as well, that can suck
resources running in the back. Don't have any open browser windows.

Also..make sure you got the latest drivers for that card,as well as your
sound card.

Just as a followup: got the card. Better performance but still seeing
mild jerkiness. I suspected there was something else wrong with the
system. Time to reinstall I guess.
