I've posted the data before, so I'm not going to do it again, if you want you can use 
the archives to dig it up with the supporting evidence. 

consider the cities of Winnipeg and Minneapolis St. Paul. Same economy, demographics 
etc. Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, has very strict gun control laws, in 1995 there were 2 
homicide, out of 11 total that were firearm related. Minneapolis-St Paul had 19 
firearm related homicides. the data is the same for vancouver, bc and Seatle WA, 
Toronto On and Chicago, I could go on. The point being is that you can match these 
locations (in Canada and the US) on most different socio-economic factors, the 
difference in homicide rates for firearms is very plain, Canada has far less homicides 
by firearms than would be expected if gun control legislation did not work.
