Not the same economy. Not the same demographics. You can not compare these cities. One example. Minneapolis has a black population of 18%. In Winnipeg, it's 0.4%.

Same economy, demographics etc. Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, has very strict gun control laws, in 1995 there were 2 homicide, out of 11 total that were firearm related. Minneapolis-St Paul had 19 firearm related homicides. the data is the same for vancouver, bc and Seatle WA, Toronto On and Chicago, I could go on. The point being is that you can match these locations (in Canada and the US) on most different socio-economic factors, the difference in homicide rates for firearms is very plain, Canada has far less homicides by firearms than would be expected if gun control legislation did not work. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=5 Get the mailserver that powers this list at http://www.coolfusion.com Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
