ROTFLOL! That's a funny comment. Well, we got a good deal of it out in 1917, and you're right, centuries of oppression really means nothing to us today (as long as you can overlook what actually happened, the horror of which words cannot describe, and not tie them into present inequities which can be viewed as a direct result of what occured). It's probably time to forget and just be friends, and I really do think that's what's happening anyways ;^)
You have an interesting view on history. If all it should be used for is to inspire new action, what would be the purpose of Exodus? Should we forget how cruel Pharoah was, and just say Moses did a good job? For some reason, I think our memories have more value than that... This long memory for past atrocities leads to present and future atrocities. At what point in time do you need to just get over it? Move on. You can not change the past, only use it to prevent repeating it.
