We never had any walk outs, students who did stuff like that were suspended.
But students would discuss things with other students and the teachers as well. In high school political debates were common, and often encouraged in many of our classes. Class discussions were a major part of the grade in many history and other social studies classes. Like I said earlier, Part of the state curriculum involves critical thinking, students have to form opinions and back them up with facts. Most of the time the teachers wouldn't get involved, but often they would encourage the discussion by asking questions and pointing out facts to support all sides. > -----Original Message----- > From: Jim Davis [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Thursday, March 27, 2003 4:43 PM > To: CF-Community > Subject: RE: Bush decided to "take out Saddam" in March > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Howie Hamlin [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Sent: Thursday, March 27, 2003 3:55 PM > > To: CF-Community > > Subject: Re: Bush decided to "take out Saddam" in March > > > > > > Me too - I remember my high school had a walk-out during the > > middle of the day to protest the Iranians holding American > > hostages.
