Jim, I am agreeing with you :) Kinda. It worries me, for example, the
undercover police among peaceful protesters is considered business as
usual. It worries me that network television is playing feel-good clips of
stirring music and the the American flag before the news, under the guise
of "supporting our troops." That particular phrase bothers me a lot. I
support the troops, but I question this war; when did that become somehow
incompatible? I see public discourse becoming more and more Orwellian and
it is happening *here* where there actually safeguards against that kinda
thing. Do I think this scenario will come to pass? I.. hope not. Is it
possible? I am afraid so. I am betting on the strengths of America, but
that doesn't mean that I don't see any dangers to the current situation...
