Jim, I am agreeing with you :) Kinda. It worries me, for example, the undercover police among peaceful protesters is considered business as usual. It worries me that network television is playing feel-good clips of stirring music and the the American flag before the news, under the guise of "supporting our troops." That particular phrase bothers me a lot. I support the troops, but I question this war; when did that become somehow incompatible? I see public discourse becoming more and more Orwellian and it is happening *here* where there actually safeguards against that kinda thing. Do I think this scenario will come to pass? I.. hope not. Is it possible? I am afraid so. I am betting on the strengths of America, but that doesn't mean that I don't see any dangers to the current situation...
