Which get contracts to mine the materials for the government of Canada. I know this from personal experience. There was natural gas found on my fathers friends property. Part of the bubble went on to the rez, part on private property. The natives on the rez got a percentage and the federal government owned the rest. They only sell companies the right to extract whatever it is, and even then it's only for a term (not sure how long).
