Well, you've got Perl built in. Putting PHP on OS X (workstation, not
server) is pretty easy. You can download the development tools from the
Apple website to get access to make, gcc, and the other gnu programming
tools. You can install or activate Tomcat (I forget if it ships with) in
Apache for J2EE stuff. Um.....

: OK, I got a new eMac delivered yesterday, and I set it up last
: night. It's got the most amazing graphics I've ever seen on a
: computer. The OSX shell is something else - I'm just in
: complete awe as to how smooth the graphics are, how seamless
: everyhint is put together. This is easily the most beautiful
: computer I've ever seen.
:
: I'm not really familiar with Mac, but I decided it was time to
: get one now that I'm expected to support two OS9 macs - a G4 as
: an FTP/VNC server and another G4 as a workstation FTP/VNC client.
: I'm looking forward to getting intimately familiar with it.
: I've ever decided to go ahead and spring for a cable modem at my
: new house (Oh yeah, I moved into my new house a couple of weeks
: ago) in anticipation of using this wonderful machine.
:
: Anybody have any idea how to program on it (other than CF) ? I
: want to dive into this headfirst.
